This painting was a return to the way every traditionally trained artist starts their education: drawing from life. I had wanted to revisit some early exercises for a while, and while sitting at a craft fair, took some of my decorations and painted them. This painting started with acrylic gouache and I gradually introduced regular acrylics and colored pencils to achieve its finished state.
