Jackie Hanson’s artwork examines the inseparable relationship between human beings and the natural environment. Using vibrant colors in a variety of media, she paints landscapes, botanicals, and animals in a realistic style, drawing on her New England upbringing for all subjects. She strives to bring feelings of passion, comfort, and feminine energy to each piece.

Hanson was raised in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. She credits her family with encouraging creative expression and exploration of the local environment; passions she still holds dear today. Notable favorites include the rocky New England coast and the chickens her grandparents raised.

Hanson received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from New England College’s Institute of Art and Design in 2022, concentrating on landscape painting. She currently works at her alma mater’s library, and is studying for a Master of Arts in Professional Writing degree, expected August 2027.

Her work has been in many juried shows with Mosaic Art Collective and several other local galleries, as well as solo exhibitions at a number of libraries and the New Hampshire Audubon Society. She frequently attends pop-up markets in the southern New Hampshire area as a way to connect directly with viewers. Long-term, she plans to expand her art into a full-time career, having always felt that this is her life’s purpose.
