This painting came from a fixation on the colors of shadows. I've noticed from painting that warm-colored light creates cool-colored shadows and vice versa. In this painting, I exaggerated the effect using a hot orange ground with cool yet vibrant cerulean shadows. Afterward, I filled the negative space with thin layers of naples yellow to create the effect of sunlight on the ground. The orange halo left at the edges creates an aura or energy to the piece that makes it feel so lively. 

The artwork is wired on the back and ready to hang on the wall as shown in the photo.
