"Periphery" Original abstract landscape painting

"Periphery" is a small painting created intuitively, resulting in an abstracted landscape that explores color and the innate texture of paint as a medium. The composition was found through chance; by toning the canvas in diluted sienna, the brush left shadows of its movements. I followed these with later pigments, resulting in the towering structure in the sky and the forms below. Cooling the canvas with grays, whites, and a gemlike blue brought this piece to a grim fantasy-like landscape, like something you can see from the corner of your eye (the periphery) but not quite make out in full. 

"Periphery" will arrive varnished and ready to hang with a wire on the back (unframed stretched canvas.)
