NH Lilacs 4" Original Painting

Original New Hampshire-shaped painting on laser-cut wood panel. Measures about 2-1/4"wide, 4" tall, and 3/8" thick.

We've got a pretty good state flower- the purple lilac! These flowers smell so good when they bloom in the spring. In the painting, I wanted to capture the soft, delicate color and texture of those little petals. 

This is part of my Mini New Hampshire series, where I used ten NH-shaped laser-cut wood pieces to paint whatever I felt in the moment of creation. These paintings run the gamut of my creative interests: colorful, detailed, textured, both close-up and distant landscapes, mostly nature-inspired, some silly and some serious.
