NH Eclipse 4" Original Painting

Original New Hampshire-shaped painting on laser-cut wood panel. Measures about 2-1/4"wide, 4" tall, and 3/8" thick.

This year, I experienced something I may not again during my lifetime- a total solar eclipse. It passed through the northern portion of New Hampshire on April 8, 2024 and I was sitting in a field in Dalton to see it. It really was incredible, how dark and cold it got when the moon passed in front of the sun, and I'll never forget that ring in the sky. 

This is part of my Mini New Hampshire series, where I used ten NH-shaped laser-cut wood pieces to paint whatever I felt in the moment of creation. These paintings run the gamut of my creative interests: colorful, detailed, textured, both close-up and distant landscapes, mostly nature-inspired, some silly and some serious.
