NH Disco 4" Original Painting

Original New Hampshire-shaped painting on laser-cut wood panel. Measures about 2-1/4"wide, 4" tall, and 3/8" thick.

When my New Hampshire cutouts arrived in the mail, this was the first that I painted. I've enjoyed painting disco balls here and there and was curious if the same principles could be translated to so complex a shape as a state. I'm pleased with the results of this first try at a disco state and I have ideas I'd bring to a second iteration, if I get the inclination to make one. 

This is part of my Mini New Hampshire series, where I used ten NH-shaped laser-cut wood pieces to paint whatever I felt in the moment of creation. These paintings run the gamut of my creative interests: colorful, detailed, textured, both close-up and distant landscapes, mostly nature-inspired, some silly and some serious.
