"New Hampshire V" Card

This is an A6 greeting card printed with an image of my painting, New Hampshire IV. Comes sealed in a protective sleeve with a matching envelope.

Coming from an ocean-people family, I've been wanting to paint the ocean as part of my New Hampshire series since its inception. The long horizon of the beach is tough to work into the narrow triangle shape of New Hampshire, though, so I struggled to come up with imagery that would work well. Finally, I thought to check what lighthouses New Hampshire has, and found some great views of Portsmouth Harbor Light, which I collaged together to create my own interpretation that's shown in this painting.

To create the original painting, I traced the cover of a New Hampshire atlas and transferred the shape to watercolor paper. Then, I applied 1/4" masking tape around the entire thing, did my painting in acrylic, and peeled the tape away at the end.
