In real life, this log is located on the trail up Mt. Rowe near Gilford, NH. I've hiked this trail a handful of times and noticed that, strangely, I had taken pictures of this log each time. I'm intrigued by the way it seems to be more alive now than when it stood; the outstretched limbs hoist the trunk from the ground, reaching out in an insect-like fashion, as if it's crawling out of the woods.
