I had a specific vision for a wildflower painting: a mix of blooms ascending a hill, backlit and breezy-looking. To paint this, I used a limited palette of yellow ochre, quinacridone magenta, viridian green and titanium white, all in my newest medium of acrylic gouache. I started with a reference image and eventually diverged to trust my own creative instincts, and I am so proud of the result!
