From the series “Human / Nature”

This painting is part of a set of three, all inspired by the same moment in the middle of nowhere. My friend and I were heading home from a long weekend at a craft fair. I was exhausted and grumpy as we rode down a long dirt road. Suddenly the road opened up into a river- the Blackwater river, to be exact, somewhere between Warner and Salisbury, NH. We pulled over and spent about 15 minutes basking in the golden hour glow of autumn. I found myself restored emotionally by the power of nature, and these paintings are a testament to that power.
