Hen Friends, Original Chicken Painting

These are two Barred Rock or Plymouth Rock Chickens. Their speckled black-and-white feathers make this a distinctive breed for backyard flocks, and they're one of my favorite to paint. This painting is 4.5"x6", gouache on paper, and coated with a UV-protective varnish and cold wax medium. I recommend framing under UV-protective glass to prevent colors fading over time.
